Holiday Traditions from The Sherri Patterson Team

The holiday season is all about traditions, and here at The Sherri Patterson Team, we love embracing every moment of the magic. From gathering for annual tree lightings to adventurous trips to Lake Tahoe, our team cherishes creating memories with loved ones.

Whether it’s the sweet joy of baking holiday cookies, the creativity of gingerbread house making, or the heartfelt act of feeding the homeless, these traditions remind us of what truly matters: community, kindness, and connection. As you celebrate this season with your loved ones, we hope you create many holiday memories.

SHERRI'S FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

  1. Cut down a fresh Christmas tree in Apple Hill the weekend following Thanksgiving.
  2. Playing games and watching one of my favorite football teams play, Dallas…. Don’t be a hater out there… lol! I love the Niners too!
  3. Attend a candlelight vigil on Christmas Eve
  4. Head to Lake Tahoe for some rest & relaxation during Christmas break

  1. Advent Calendars
  2. Secret Santa

"Advent calendars are still a tradition at our house, even though the kids are older now. Another tradition we practice at Christmas, more out of necessity than anything else, is Secret Santa. Due to the size of my brood, this has been effective and fun for the past 20+ years." - Fran Cammarota

  1. We love our family gingerbread house competition
  2. Go to a local performance of The Nutcracker
  3. Decorate the tree together then drive around to look at lights

  1. Signature cocktail dinner
  2. Bake seasonal cookies to give to our friends and neighbors

"I grew up without holidays, so growing up, my family tradition was to exchange gifts on my parent’s anniversary which falls on December 14th. Now that I’m an adult, we typically have a signature cocktail at dinner, host dinner for our family the Saturday before or after the holiday, and I make an overwhelming amount of various seasonal cookies to gift out to our friends and neighbors to say thank you for being an important part of our lives."

- Alyssa Teyler

  1. FRIENDSgiving dinner in our matching Christmas jammies that the Elf on the Shelf brings the night before Thanksgiving. They each have an elf to take with them when they move out to share with their kids.
  2. Each of our kids get their own tree in their rooms and the Elf brings them a new ornament on Dec. 1st. The kids get to take their ornaments once they move out so they will have ornaments to decorate their own tree.
  3. Christmas Eve Cioppino and cookie making
  4. We adopt a local CASA family for Christmas, and we volunteer to feed the homeless in El Dorado County.
